The exterior is the argument here. Stone across the facade and the entry walls, copper on the roof and on the lanterns, and a cobblestone driveway running up to an iron gate. Stone and copper both weather instead of fading, which is why an English country house still reads right a century later.
Inside, the materials keep going. The study and the living room are both wood-paneled, each with its own fireplace, and the great room opens under a vaulted beam ceiling. Arched windows and doorways carry through the plan, with high ceilings and trim work detailed to match.
Out back, a covered porch and a patio with a third fireplace push the house into the yard, which in Central Florida is where a good part of the year gets spent.
“This was the fourth house that we have built in the Orlando area. There is no question that it was our best experience.”
