Italianate

Arched windows across the stucco facade, an arched colonnade around the courtyard, arched columns holding the loggia. The shape repeats at every scale, which is what gives the house its rhythm before you notice any single detail.

Inside, the formal living room carries a coffered ceiling, a stone fireplace, and enough room for a grand piano without the piano taking over. The study is wood-paneled floor to ceiling, with its own fireplace and a rolling library ladder. Both rooms are built around materials that get better with age rather than newer.

Out back, the loggia runs along a terra cotta deck with an outdoor kitchen, and the clay tile roof ties the whole elevation together. It’s an Italian villa vocabulary, adapted for a Winter Park lot and a Florida summer.
